Penny Lane – San Marcos CA

Posted by lamboburger on Oct 30, 2009 in Pub |

Penny Lane, a long time favorite for Happy-hour, offered an overall fair burger experience today.   It has a good atmosphere (dart boards and TVs), service was good (a little slow as it got busier) and it’s really clean.  The price is very reasonable also.  The burger was fair as it suffered in the B-t-B ratio and the patty was wafer-thin.  As Troy put it, “It’s like a bread sandwich posing as a cheeseburger”.  The bun was fresh and the toppings were decent (a little limp).  The fries were the star of the show by most accounts (although they seemed a little on the limp side too).  Overall, Penny Lane has scored a 7 on the Ultimate Burger Review rating scale.  I’d like to extend a special thank you to our Guest Reviewer Rene.

Churchill’s has a great burger, and it’s right by Penny Lane…close enough for your lunchtime hour crunch review.
